Kathryn Nicholson is a graduate of the Bauer Honors Program at the University of Houston where she studied Finance and completed the Certified Financial Planning curriculum. She is currently pursuing her CFP® designation and currently holds her Series 6 and 63 licenses. Kathryn also graduated from the Summer Venture in Management Program (SVMP) at Harvard Business School in 2017.

Away from the office, Kathryn is a member of ROC for h.e.r., the Young Professionals Organization associated with The Women's Fund, as well as an Advisory Board Member. She was recognized as The Women's Fund's Rookie of the Year in 2019. Kathryn is also a graduate of United Way Houston’s Project Blueprint, Class XLII in 2023. This program prepares emerging and current leaders in our multicultural community for leadership roles on non-profit and public sector boards and committees.

She was formally Vice-Chair of the Bauer College Young Professionals Board, serving for a total of 3 years.  She was also Vice Director of National Recruiting for the Harvard Business School Summer Venture in Management Program Alumni Association, helping lead a team of 10 recruiters to share SVMP among undergraduates and encourage application. 

Kathryn is a native of the Rio Grande Valley where she spent her childhood playing soccer, performing in local theater, and helping her grandmother's small business.  She's married to Will Nicholson, Jr., an Airline Captain for United Airlines. He's been flying for over a decade and has a passion for aviation and philanthropy. They have a four-year-old Great Pyrenees mix named Abilene and five-year-old Golden Retriever named Tilly who they adore. They love to travel and their goal is to travel to every continent together.

She's an avid reader and coffee enthusiast, on a mission to visit every local coffee shop in Houston, and when she travels. Some of her favorite books include Tuesday's with Morrie, The Last Lecture, and classics such as Pride and Prejudice.
